pAround 1030 at night East Lansdowne Police were patrolling the 100 block of Beverly Ave when the noticed heavy smoke coming from a house. The Building assignment was quickly dispatched moments later and upgraded to a working fire. Engine 24 and Squad 16 arrived at the same time and simultaneously went into service with 2 handlines. While crews were inside they had a hard time locating the fire. At the same time fire self vented out of the roof as well as extending into the 3rd floor. additional crews stretched more handlines to the 2nd and 3rd floor. After 25 minutes of being in service all fire was knocked down and placed under control at the 45 minute mark. Companies remained on scene for 2 hours opening up and wetting down hot spots.
